Review: Rip It Energy Lite

Posted: Aug 07, 2004 at 12:00 AM (Last Updated: Aug 09, 2004 at 1:39 PM)
Rip It Lite is a good quality zero calorie, sugar free energy drink that has a refreshing and surprisingly clean flavor. The formulation uses the base berry flavor from the regular version and is sweetened with acesulfame potassium and sucralose. These two sweeteners give the product a slight aftertaste, but it's on par with other energy drinks that use these sweeteners. The overall flavor of Rip It Lite is refreshing and is a good choice for consumers seeking a sugar free energy drink at a reasonable price (Rip It Lite costs less than half the typical retail price of the leading 16 energy drink brands). As for areas that could be improved, the packaging could be improved in our opinion. Specifically, it's somewhat difficult to distinguish the lite and original varieties as neither product says "Lite" or "Regular" on it. Otherwise, a decent energy drink.
