Review: Matcha Latte

From a taste perspective, Rebbl’s Matcha Latte is perhaps the company's strongest entry to date. This USDA Organic and high pressure processed beverage blends coconut milk, matcha, honey, vanilla, spirulina, quillaja, pink salt and stevia to create something that is extremely delicious. The base of coconut milk gives the product a creamy coconut flavor, but it doesn’t add to what is a relatively thin-bodied product. From there, the matcha and spirulina give the product a slightly grassy note, which is definitely something that you want in any matcha-based beverage. The matcha and the coconut milk combine quite well, especially with the earthy sweetness from the honey and the light vanilla note at the finish. You can’t taste the stevia (fortunately) and we’re not sure if the quillaja adds anything that you can taste, but the combination of flavors works extremely well. Nutritionally, this product has 120 calories, 4g of fiber, 11g of sugars, 2g of protein, and vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium and iron. Packaging is a 12 oz. fully wrapped bottle. We like the overall look of the product as the eye goes to the logo and the “matcha latte” words. However, we feel as though the double mention of “super herbs” might take away the focus a bit and undermine one’s perception of how the product tastes. From our perspective, the use of “cold-pressure” might be something worth mentioning (since it has an implied freshness). But otherwise, we really like the polished and clean look of the product. It's definitely our favorite variety of the lineup.
