Oh My Meyer

The flagship flavor of Sweet‘tauk is this product, which blends water, lemon juice, meyer lemon juice, and evaporated cane juice. Packaged in a 14.5 oz. plastic bottle, it may look like an HPP product, but it's not. Instead, it’s a flash pasteurized product that, at least in terms of flavor, is on par with other pasteurized premium lemonades. The product does not include any preservatives, and it requires refrigeration for its relatively short shelf life. While the flavor of the product is quite good, it lacks something that’s unique to the brand. On the outside, we aren’t overly fond of how the company made the product look like an HPP product. This could certainly create confusion. A bigger challenge is the readability of the label. The script on the logo cannot be read without turning the bottle sideways and the word “tauk” isn’t something that’s likely to translate out of the Montauk, N.Y. area. Branding it as “Sweet Montauk” would be a simple fix and would certainly help conjure up thoughts of summer. All in all, it’s a perfectly fine bottle of lemonade, but we’d like the outside to be a bit easier on the eyes.
