Of the initial Vital Juice Kids lineup, Mrs. Beet is definitely the most adventurous of the bunch. This variety blends orange, carrot, and beet juices with almond milk into a cold pressed, high pressure processed product that’s USDA Organic. There’s a pretty heavy dose of beet flavor to the product as well as a bright reddish purple color to the liquid. That said, we could see it being a little less approachable than some of the other flavors. But accepting it for what it is, the product is very enjoyable and well-formulated. Each of the flavors works in unison together, starting with the fruit and vegetable flavors. The almond milk adds some bulk to the product, both in the slight “milkiness” that it adds to the product’s flavor and the 3g of protein that it adds. Honestly, we think the biggest challenge for this particular flavor is going to be getting kids to take the first sip. From there, we’re pretty sure that a good percentage of them will enjoy it. On the outside, there’s a lot that we like about what the company has created. For starters, Vital Juice clearly labeled the date the product was made and when it expires, so you know exactly how fresh the product is. We also like the 10 oz. bottle and the colorful label that the company has created. However, we wonder if the graphics don’t skew a bit too young. Lastly, we have some concern that they haven’t done enough to call attention to the fact that this product contains nuts. Still, the core of the product is quite good and, with some tweaking, we think this is a good flavor to have as part of the line.
