Vybes is a line of ready-to-drink beverages that contain 15 mg of hemp CBD per 14 oz. bottle. The product is currently offered in five flavors, of which three are still and two are sparkling.

We were only able to sample the still products, so that’s what we’ll be focusing on in this review. Each of the three still flavors -- Peach Ginger, Strawberry Lavender, and Blueberry Mint --contain 25 calories per bottle and 4 grams of sugar. None contain any added sugar, as they are instead sweetened with fruit juice, stevia, and erythritol.

From a flavor perspective, these products are all pretty tasty, especially when compared against other products using zero calorie sweeteners. Relying on the natural sugars from juice is certainly an advantage from both the flavor and sweetener perspective.

But don’t let that comment give you the impression that that these products are juice heavy. Instead, they are light and refreshing, with just enough fruit flavor to satisfy the palate. In the case of Blueberry Mint and Peach Ginger, the products also contain green tea, which gives both an extra layer that pairs nicely with the fruit flavors that they’ve added.

While all of the Vybes products are ones that we’d consume for flavor alone, the 15 mg of hemp-derived CBD that they’ve added is what consumers will really be after. It’s also why you’ll find this product retailing for $7-8, which is, at least in our opinion, something that will be a challenge as it scales and the market becomes more crowded. Until then, Vybes certainly has some level of first-mover advantage, which they’ve used to place the product  in several key markets around the country.

As for the packaging and branding, the product’s 14 oz. glass bottle features a black cap and a paper label (with a different color for each SKU). On each label you’ll find simple, black text (using Helvetica, if our eyes are correct) and copy that’s very straightforward. It’s minimalist, cool looking, and also very intuitive -- which are all good things. While it’s slightly hard to see how this will evolve into a longer term brand as competition increases, we think it’s a solid approach for the brand to launch with.

In the end, Vybes is a well-executed product that is, at the time of this review, one of the better CBD enhanced beverages that we’ve tried so far.
