Review: Berry

Posted: Mar 12, 2012 at 12:00 AM (Last Updated: Mar 21, 2012 at 11:03 AM)
Despite the overly scientific and technical looking packaging, the flavor of Xiomega 3’s Berry is extremely enjoyable (we would definitely drink this again and again). The sugar sweetened berry flavor is fruity and smooth, with a straightforward flavor (it’s just “berry”) that is very pleasing to the senses. The addition of vitamins (Bs and K) as well as chia (which adds omega 3 and 6 and fiber) adds a subtle earthy note and touch of texture, but it does not take away from the product at all. If there’s anything to say about the formulation on the negative side of things, it’s that the finish is a bit sugary (it has 15g of sugar per 8 oz). The packaging is really the biggest issue for this drink, with a cluttered and technical theme that would lead one to believe that what’s inside the bottle is not going to taste good. Overall, it’s a good start, but we strongly recommend they hire a new label designer.
