Position Summary:  

 

The Director of Sales is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing sales growth and profitability of all brands both internally and externally. They are the key point of contact for wholesale distributor relations. Their focus is on profitable volume growth, building new markets, and advising the Brewmaster on growth opportunities through new products and packaging. They are responsible for the development of an employee-oriented sales culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention, efficiency, and high performance. They must create a workplace culture that emphasizes the identified mission, vision, guiding principles, and values of the organization.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

·        Experience

o   Minimum of seven years of sales experience required.

o   Minimum of three years of brewing industry experience in a leadership role required.

o   Candidates must be highly motivated, self-directed, methodical and results driven, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and professional written and verbal communication skills.

o   Must have an understanding of the scientific method and an ability to control for biases and recognize fallacies.

o   The ability to troubleshoot and work independently is a requirement.

·        Education and Knowledge Base

o   Strong knowledge of all aspects of wholesale distribution required.

o   Strong understanding of core financial principles required.

o   Understanding of the brewing process and equipment required.

o   Must possess solid skills with basic mathematical computations and have basic computer functions knowledge, including MS Office and Google Drive.

o   OLCC server permit or willingness to become certified required.

·        Miscellaneous

o   Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends during peak business times. We strive to have a schedule that works for everyone, but sometimes there are exceptions.

o   This position requires a valid driver's license to travel between locations, a satisfactory background check, and the ability to meet the physical demands of the position detailed below.

 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

·        General

o   Assist Brewmaster in creating, achieving, and reviewing key performance indicators.

o   Assist Brewmaster in creating Annual Operating Presentations.

o   Participate in regular meetings with Brewmaster to review goals, KPI’s, targets and engagement.

o   Participate in regular meetings with Director of Brewing Operations, Director of Sensory & Innovation, and Quality, Compliance, & Maintenance Lead to steer company towards growth and profitability.

o   Create new event and sales building ideas for all locations at the direction and approval of Brewmaster.

o   Manage Sales & Marketing Manager and all sales team members to execute plans for growth and profitability.

·        Wholesale Distribution Sales

o   Manage all wholesale distribution partnerships.

o   Review distributor engagement from previous period and set expectations for upcoming period.

o   Build and maintain key accounts, including, but not limited to grocery store placements, convenience store placements and top selling on-premise accounts.

o   Annual Business Plan meetings with all wholesale distribution partners

·        Internal Sales

o   Direct organization, staffing, and coordination of beer festivals, promotional events, fundraisers, beer dinners, tap takeovers, tasting events, etc., including events at night and on weekends. 

o   Manage any self-distribution networks.

·        Public Relations and Marketing

o   Coordinate with and manage public relations partners.

o   Coordinate with Marketing and Social Media partners to create signs and posters for internal and external events. 

o   Direct mailing/shipping beer for events, publications, samplings, tasting panels, media, and competitions. 

o   Present information from marketing agency meetings, including updates, calendars, communication, etc.

·        Accomplish all other tasks assigned by Brewmaster.
