Bluebird Hardwater is a fast-growing RTD brand based in Jacksonville, FL. We make non-carbonated canned cocktails with premium vodka or tequila, ultra-purified still water, and real fruit juice. No carbonation, no preservatives, no artificial flavors. We're expanding into New England and looking for a well-connected market manager to drive growth across Rhode Island and Massachusetts — with a particular focus on the Greater Boston market.
Position Overview:
The Market Manager for Rhode Island and Massachusetts will be the primary brand driver and distributor manager across both states. This person must be deeply embedded in the New England beverage scene, with existing relationships at both the account and distributor level. Massachusetts is a key chain account market, so candidates must bring demonstrated experience managing regional and national chain accounts including grocery, convenience, club, and drug channels. You will grow velocity and distribution, execute programs, and establish Bluebird Hardwater as a must-stock brand throughout the territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop distributor relationships across Rhode Island and Massachusetts
- Own chain account relationships and programming in Massachusetts, including regional grocery, convenience, and off-premise chains
- Build and maintain a robust call schedule across on-premise and off-premise independent accounts
- Execute distributor work-withs, ride-alongs, and sales team trainings to drive rep engagement
- Lead brand activations, samplings, and events across the Greater Boston market and beyond
- Identify and pursue new account openings to expand distribution across both states
- Track sales data, account performance, and report results to leadership regularly
- Serve as the day-to-day brand expert for all trade and distributor partners in the territory
Qualifications
- 3+ years of beverage alcohol sales experience, preferably in RTD/canned cocktails, spirits, beer, or FMB categories
- Established relationships with key accounts and/or distributors in the Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island market strongly preferred
- Proven experience managing chain accounts in Massachusetts (grocery, convenience, or off-premise retail)
- Deep familiarity with the Greater Boston on- and off-premise landscape
- Must reside within 30 miles of Boston, MA
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a multi-state territory independently
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly across RI and MA
- Passion for emerging brands and the craft beverage space
