Packaging Operator

Hopworks Brewery is hiring a full-time Packaging Operator at our production facility on Powell Blvd in SE Portland.

Responsibilities

  • Package beer in accordance with Hopworks packaging procedures.
  • Weekly delivery to PDX (once per week).
  • Ensure quality by inspecting all products as they are processed.
  • Complete shift paperwork as outlined in Hopworks' procedures.
  • Communicate order fulfillment status to appropriate department leaders.
  • Report any mechanical or material issues to the department manager.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings.
  • Rotate positions willingly and with others in mind.
  • Help maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled
  • Troubleshoot machinery during operation and make necessary adjustments to equipment.

Other roles and responsibilities may include cellar work (once trained), warehouse operations, and delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license
  • Must thrive in a highly collaborative and team-oriented work environment and must take the initiative to support your co-workers in meeting deadlines and ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Applicants must be DETAILED ORIENTATED.
  • Basic mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to multitask without sacrificing quality.
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the job including but not limited to working while standing for duration of shift, frequently lifting & carrying heavy materials approx. 55lbs up to shoulder high, frequently climbing ladder over 10 feet, and preforming job while standing on a ladder.
  • Organization, time management, and communication skills to help the team manage stress and workload.
  • Experience and proficiency in packing line operations
  • 1-2 years' experience operating an open filler such as a PSA CB100F
  • Solid knowledge of safe chemical handling, safe work operations, safety policies and procedures, and proven ability to adhere to strict workplace safety rules and regulations.
  • Prior forklift operating experience

Schedule: 8-hour shift, 8AM – 4PM Monday to Friday
