Cidermaker / Production Team Member

Haykin Family Cider -  Aurora, CO

About the Role

We’re looking for a thoughtful, hard-working craft professional to join our award-winning cidery. This is a hands-on position that touches every part of the process - from pressing apples to blending, bottling, and delivering finished cider. The right person is self-motivated, mechanically curious, and deeply committed to quality.

You’ll work directly with our founders, Daniel and Talia Haykin, learning every stage of small-batch, sparkling-wine-style cidermaking and becoming an essential part of our core production team. For the right candidate, this is a growth position with the potential to develop into a lead cidermaker role.

About Haykin Family Cider

Haykin Family Cider is a nationally acclaimed, small-batch cidery in Aurora, Colorado. We make sparkling, wine-like ciders with “tiny bubbles” that elevate apples the way wineries treat grapes. Every batch is made with intention, using heirloom and unique varieties that highlight fruit character and terroir - never sugar, flavors, or additives.

Our ciders have earned multiple national awards, press recognition, and loyal fans who appreciate authenticity and craftsmanship. We operate with precision, care, and pride - and we’re looking for someone who shares those values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of cider production: pressing, fermentation, blending, bottling, labeling, and packaging.
  • Operate and maintain cellar equipment, including pumps, filters, and bottling lines.
  • Perform cleaning, sanitization, and quality checks with an uncompromising eye for detail.
  • Maintain batch records and compliance paperwork.
  • Drive delivery routes to local accounts (clean driving record required).
  • Represent Haykin Family Cider at tasting room shifts, events, and festivals.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn the craft from the ground up.
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistency.
  • Physical stamina - able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, small movements of 100-pound loads might be necessary from time to time, and stand for long periods.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and respect for both the work and the team.

Preferred:

  • Experience in fermentation (cider, beer, or wine).
  • Comfort with mechanical systems or equipment maintenance.
  • Background in agriculture, winemaking, or beverage production.
  • Handy with tools and small repairs.

Hours and Schedule

Full-time, typically Monday - Friday, with occasional weekend or evening work during harvest and events. Flexibility and reliability are key - this is a small, collaborative team where everyone pitches in.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $55,000 - $65,000 annually, depending on experience
  • Bonus potential based on performance and company success
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • HSA contributions
  • Life insurance
  • Paid flex time off
  • Cider and merchandise discounts

Our Team Culture

We’re a small, tight-knit crew that values precision, teamwork, and mutual respect. We take pride in our craft, hold high standards, and support each other. If you’re serious about learning, dependable, and ready to invest in a career in craft cider, we want to hear from you.
