Who you are:

We are seeking a driven Account Manager to help grow and support our wholesale and on-premise partnerships. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building strong relationships, understands the craft beer landscape, and is excited to represent a fast-growing San Diego brand. The Account Manager will be a key ambassador for Harland, ensuring our beers are thoughtfully placed, well supported, and proudly represented in the market.


About the job:

The Account Manager will increase sales by gaining distribution, opening new accounts, and building relationships with our wholesale partners, customers and accounts. This role will secure placements, increase facings, and drive sales. The Account Manager will also work in the field to reduce out of stocks, sell in displays, participate in events at retail accounts and increase store level relationships to help drive awareness of Harland Brewing Company.


Pay: Salary ($70,304 - $76,000) + Bonus


Your day-to-day:

  • Build strong relationship with wholesaler partner
  • Send weekly communication to wholesaler and manager on progress in the market
  • Seek out and establish new accounts within territory
  • Achieve specified account goals and visit accounts
  • Maintain awareness of current and incoming products and pricing
  • Develop new accounts and maintain established accounts
  • Use reporting to identify opportunities in each channel
  • Monitor and respond to all communications in a timely and helpful manner
  • Maintain current list of contacts and notes for all accounts
  • Communication with retail accounts regarding brand awareness, pricing, inventory, events, etc.
  • Become acquainted with every key decision maker or decision influencer in your market
  • Conduct tastings and evening promotions and in store demos
  • Working festivals representing and serving Harland
  • Own the on- and off-premise, and grocery stores that fall in the assigned territory by building meaningful relationships with buyers
  • Support accounts/ distributors by merchandising product and placement at retail
  • Build relationships in grocery store channels with buyers and team leaders.


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Must have reliable automobile transportation, maintain an acceptable driving record and valid CA driver license, and maintain auto insurance coverage
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Focus on win-win relationships with customers, team and management
  • Very-strong planning and organization
  • High level of personal accountability for performance
  • Must have excellent problem solving skills
  • Must be willing to travel within assigned region
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays, as needed


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to pull/push a load up to 55 lbs.
  • Requires heavy and repetitive lifting/placement of products up to 55 lbs.
  • Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday.
  • Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.
