SUMMARY


The Driver/Fleet Manager is a dual-role position responsible for both local driving and comprehensive fleet management operations. This individual will drive materials between the brewery and warehouse locations while overseeing daily truck movements to ensure efficient and timely movements of finished goods.


Candidate will need to be able coordinate the daily transport of raw materials and packaging supplies, managing the movement of product between the brewery and warehouses, and maintaining full oversight of the truck fleet. The candidate will need a valid DOT certification, Medical Card, thorough knowledge of all applicable transportation regulations and laws, and a strong understanding of fleet operations to ensure uninterrupted daily fleet movements.


This is a local driving position only — no overnight travel is required. Standard hours of operation are 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, or until production is completed for the day. The selected candidate will report each morning to the warehouse located at 8700 Elmwood Ave, Kansas City, MO.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Safely operate a company truck between the brewery and warehouse locations, including performing drop-and-hook trailer operations at both sites.
  • Operate a forklift (hand and foot controls) and other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials using forklifts or other power equipment.
  • Conduct daily inspections of truck, trailer, and forklift equipment; report any maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Unload inbound shipments and transport products to designated storage areas; stack and store materials efficiently and accurately.
  • Verify inbound and outbound shipments for accuracy and damage; report any quality discrepancies.
  • Pull and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring the correct quantity and product type are loaded and shipped. Meet established warehouse performance metrics.
  • Move products efficiently between staging areas, storage locations, and trailers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse environment. Follow all safety procedures and comply with OSHA and SDS standards.
  • Assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Operate handheld scanners and basic computer systems for inventory and shipment tracking.
  • Perform end-of-day warehouse closing duties.
  • Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES REQUIRED


  • Valid Class A CDL with Air Brake endorsement required. 
  • Must have Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
  • Valid DOT medical card and clean driving record.
  • Two to five years of CDL driving experience.
  • Two to five years of fleet management experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to pass a background check, DOT pre-employment physical, drug screening, and vehicle insurance review.
  • Availability to work flexible hours as business needs require.
  • Ability to perform basic math, read instructions, complete required documentation, and communicate effectively (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply safe lifting techniques.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong collaboration skills; able to work effectively with management, peers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. from waist to shoulder height, and 40 lbs. from floor to overhead.
  • Ability to crouch, squat, and perform pre- and post-trip inspections, including entering and exiting equipment using steps and kneeling positions.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 160 lbs. horizontally.
