Position Summary

The Field Sales Representative is the primary point of contact for local retail accounts and distribution partners. You are responsible for driving the growth of the Hamburg Brewing Company (HBC) and Flying Bison brands by securing new placements, maintaining excellent account relationships, and executing promotional events. You are a brand ambassador who brings the energy of the HBC taproom directly to the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Manage and grow a defined territory of bars, restaurants, retail convenience and grocery stores.
  • Sales Growth: Achieve Quarterly sales volume targets by securing displays, features, new tap handles, increasing facings on shelves, and expanding distribution.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong, lasting relationships with our distributor and retail partners to help grow our portfolio of brands.
  • Brand Promotion: Coordinate and execute on-site promotions, beer tastings, and tap takeovers to drive consumer awareness and trial.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitive activity, pricing, and local trends, providing feedback to the leadership team to influence future product development.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that HBC products are being stored, served, and presented at the highest quality standards at all accounts.
  • Administrative: Utilize CRM or sales tracking software to log visits, maintain inventory records, and submit sales reports.


Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Minimum: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: College Degree
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in craft beer sales, beverage distribution, or high-volume hospitality management.
  • Industry Knowledge: Passionate about the craft beer industry with a deep understanding of beer styles, brewing processes, and current market trends.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; you must be comfortable presenting to buyers and engaging with the public.
  • Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage your own schedule, and prioritize tasks effectively.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to drive for short or long periods of time.


WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS

Expected to represent brands across all assigned territories. Must be comfortable interacting with retail accounts. Exposed to all weather conditions due to the amount of travel associated with position. Ability to drive to retail locations on a regular basis as required.

Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as required.


ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Must be 21+ years of age. Must hold a valid, clean NYS driver’s license with reliable transportation.
