Brewer Position

Foolproof Brewing Company in Bridgeport, CT is looking for a creative and experienced brewer to join our team. The brewer position will work in all aspects of the brewery production, bringing a collaborative energy to a small team.

This full-time position offers a flexible work schedule assuming all required tasks are completed in an expected and timely manner.

Responsibilities Include:

?     Brewhouse operation (15 BBL six-vessel system) + (5 BBL three-vessel system)

?     Primary manager and operator for production, maintenance, inventory, and quality control

?     Monitor and maintain brewing equipment, scheduling routine maintenance, and addressing repairs as needed

?     Regular and consistent communication with Bridgeport's Director of Operations

?     Regular and consistent communication with Pawtucket’s Operations Manager

?     Travelling to Pawtucket, RI to assist and learn brewing and cellaring practices

?     Perform quality assurance tests; such as: gravity readings, pH measurements, and sensory evaluations

?     Cellar responsibilities, including (but not limited to) tank CIPs, dry-hopping, tank transfers, yeast handling, carbonation, and kegging

?     Operating an Alpha BrewOps canning line

?     Adhering to company-established SOPs and safety protocols

?     Maintaining superior sanitation and cleanliness throughout the brewery

?     Maintain accurate records of ingredient usage and batch documentation.

?     Maintain accurate records of draft inventory for the taproom / venue

?     Work with the RI brewing team on new recipes and refining existing ones

?     Represent the brewery at events, tastings, and industry gatherings to promote the brand.

Requirements:

?     3+ years of relevant brewing experience

?     Meticulous note taking with a strong attention to detail, with a high level of organization

?     Strong understanding of raw materials

?     A proactive attitude and ability to work independently

?     Basic computer skills: Excel, Google applications, etc

?     Ability to lift 55 pounds and move up to 165 pounds

Additional Preferred Experience:

?     Science / Lab background

?     Experience with recipe development

?     Mechanical background or knowledge

?     Familiarity with Alpha BrewOps canning line

?     Familiarity with brewing and packaging of non-alcoholic beverages and RTD’s

?     Familiarity with Beer30 (5th Ingredient)

?     Familiarity with BeerSmith

Compensation Based on Experience
