Title: Production Manager
Reports to: Director of Manufacturing
Job purpose: Coordinates facility activities of all departments by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Creates production orders and schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
- Coordinates with Director of Plant Management to manage the preparation of blending, production, and sanitation schedules and manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
- Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products using WMS systems.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolve operational and manufacturing problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Responsible for enforcing all Human Safety, Quality, and Food Safety procedures and policies.
- Ensuring compliance with safety
- Reviews and signs-off on related HACCP documentation, and alerts QA Supervisor and Production Supervisor of any discrepancies.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Operates machines in areas of responsibility as assigned or situation dictates
- Coordinates weekly staff meetings (all department managers).
- Coordinates shift transition meetings to facilitate solid communication of pertinent information to on coming and off going Production and Blending Supervisors.
- Organizes training and educational manuals for the production team
- Works to resolve worker grievances and alerts the Director of Manufacturing and Human Resources Manager as appropriate.
- Works closely with production operations team to coordinate manufacturing operations.
- Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data and reports. Reviews daily attendance reports and communicates changes and necessary information to Payroll Department.
- Completes production reporting requirements promptly.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; or minimum of five (5) years related food industry experience in a Supervisory role and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as production schedules, inventory reports, sales forecasts, safety rules, motor carrier regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and trends. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form.
- Proficient typing and computer skills, including knowledge of Internet software, inventory software, ERP and WMS systems, Order processing systems, spreadsheet software (MS Excel), Word Processing software (MS Word), and Email software (Office 365). The individual should also have knowledge of and be competent in the use of Warehouse Management System software and hardware, including handheld scanning devices.

· Ability to work in extreme temperatures
