Review: Huckleberry Lemonade (2014)
(Last Updated: Nov 14, 2014 at 12:07 PM)
Dust Cutter’s Huckleberry Lemonade includes a berry flavoring that makes the product taste more or less tastes like raspberry lemonade. While we appreciate calling it “Huckleberry” as a way to fit with the company's branding, the name isn’t something that exactly whets the palate when you look at the label. Fortunately, what’s inside the bottle tastes good, with a sugar-sweetened formulation (40g per bottle). It's sweet, but not too sweet, with a light mouthfeel and a clean finish. As far as packaging and branding are concerned, the company has successfully created something that’s visually appealing. The text and illustrations on the front give the product a premium, but very approachable, feeling. Between the type treatment and a note that the beverage is from Jackson Hole-based Dust Cutter Beverage Co., the product has a very “cowboy” theme to it. It definitely feels like a good fit for a juice product like this. If there’s anything we’d change, it would be the prominence of the callouts for ginseng and B-vitamins. These things really don’t fit with the rest of the motif. Overall, another nice flavor from Dust Cutter.
