BevNET Review
Go Body’s Berry Pomegranate, which was the only flavor available at the time of review, is a pleasant tasting sports drink-style protein drink. It packs in 25g of protein with only 8g of sugar and 150 calories per bottle along with a well rounded mix of vitamins, antioxidants, and more. As for what’s in it, the product contains -- like most products in the category -- a rather lengthy list of ingredients, including coconut water, sugar, stevia, fiber, mango extract and vitamins. The taste is quite good and the berry flavoring does a nice job of masking the tartness of the protein flavor. Furthermore, the blend of sugar and stevia works well; you definitely can’t taste the stevia. As for it’s function, it’s hard to complain about 25g of protein. The other stuff, well, it’s a bit harder to really quantify. On the outside, the product has a backdrop that looks like a juice cocktail, but a logo and type treatment that looks very technical to the point where it doesn’t feel overly approachable. If the company could figure out how to make the drink look more inviting (and perhaps make a better visual callout for the coconut water), we think it would be a much more appealing product. We’d say the same about the name, which, at least to us, sounds too generic. Overall, Go Body has a good concept, but the visuals feel a bit too generic and not fully developed.
