Rawpothecary: Skinny Greens

Rawpothecary’s Skinny Greens is an HPP blend of fennel, cucumber, romaine, parsley, celery and coconut water. While this product might appear to be visually the same as competing brands, it’s actually a blended (as opposed to cold-pressed) juice that includes all of the pulp and skin (for added fiber and nutritional benefits). From a taste perspective, this product definitely has a fuller body and more intense flavor than what we’re used to from a cold-pressed juice. The fennel, in particular, adds a lot of zing to the flavor, while the greens add a very fresh taste to the product. What’s noticeably missing from the party is sweetness. Rawpothecary didn’t add any fruit to the mix, so the subtle sweetness that’s in the drink is from the added coconut water and whatever sugars are naturally found in the vegetables and herbs used in the product. We’re certainly okay with this approach, but it makes this particular flavor one that’s going to appeal to a more hardcore juice consumer. Visually, the product looks and feels very much like other products in the category. Rawpothecary has chosen a 14.5 oz. clear plastic bottle with a square shape. From there, the label is simple and clean, with the company's apothecary style logo definitely adding to the appeal. Again, a pretty straightforward approach that fits with what others are doing in the category. Overall, we really enjoyed what’s inside Skinny Greens, and the outside is at least on par with the competition.
