Job Summary
- Griffin Claw Brewing Company is currently looking for a self-motivated individual who is ambitious and ready to make a difference. Qualified candidates must be self-starters, outgoing, and have a passion for the beverage industry. In this position, you will be an ambassador for our great beer, help build and maintain professional sales relationships with wholesalers, retailers and consumers. Ideal candidates will reside in West Michigan.
Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Develop new accounts and maintain current accounts within the market
- Territory includes West Michigan and Northern Indiana
- Communicate with retail accounts regarding brands, pricing, inventory, events, etc.
- Become acquainted with every key decision maker or decision influencer in your territory
- Increase sales and brand visibility in designated territory by opening new accounts, expanding distribution, selling in features, building displays, hosting promos and utilizing POS
- Work/Communicate with distributors on a weekly basis regarding orders/inventory and market activity
- Visit a minimum of 160 accounts/month
- Availability and willingness to work in the market some weeknights and weekends
- Conduct wait staff/bartender educations, beer tastings, evening promotions and beer festivals
Required Skills/Experience (but not limited to):
- 1-2 years minimum of beverage-related sales experience
- Strong knowledge and experience in the West Michigan marketplace
- Wholesale and/or Supply Beverage Sales preferred
- Highly motivated with an assertive, confident personality
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work alone
- General knowledge of the brewing process
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to master the selling skills process
- Knowledge of distributor operations, knowing how to work with distributors
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to work flexible hours/days, including night and weekend events
- Computer competence in at least Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, ideally VIP, KARMA
- Administrative ability to complete company’s administration requirements on time regularly such as expense reports, weekly recaps, monthly calendar, budget management, daily e-mail responses, weekly call reporting, etc.
- Valid Driver’s license
- Ability to lift cases/equipment regularly, 25+ lbs
