Description

As a Senior Brewer, you’ll take a leading role in producing a wide range of high-quality beverages, including beer, seltzer, kombucha, and ready-to-drink (RTD) products. You bring a passion for brewing and a drive to consistently execute, reduce waste, improve quality, and elevate processes across the board. In this role, you’re not just following procedures; you’re helping shape them. You’ll guide and coach others, support daily production plans, and serve as a go-to expert for both hands-on execution and continuous improvement. Your insights, experience, and attention to detail make you a trusted partner to management and a key contributor to the success of the brewing team.


You’ll be the eyes and ears on the floor, spotting opportunities for improvement and helping turn ideas into action. By communicating proactively, partnering across teams, and prioritizing safety, efficiency, and quality, you’ll help us move forward one brew at a time.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Lead shift operations, ensuring safe, consistent execution of the daily production plan
  • Coach and support brewers while upholding quality standards and brewing procedures
  • Operate and maintain brewing equipment to produce beer, kombucha, and RTDs per SOPs
  • Monitor and record key brewing metrics, including fermentation, cell counts, gravity, CO2, and DO
  • Perform and oversee brewing tasks including mashing, lautering, cellaring, filtering, yeast handling, and sanitation
  • Track material movement accurately in both physical and digital systems to prevent losses
  • Identify and document process improvements and non-conformances with leadership and quality teams
  • Collaborate across departments to stay aligned, solve issues, and meet production goals
  • Participate in shift meetings, share updates, and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Stay current on brewing best practices and apply new skills to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability through actions and communication
  • Provide technical support and step in as needed to keep operations running smoothly
  • Bring forward ideas to improve processes and help the team grow



Qualifications

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in brewing or process operations, with strong working knowledge of the full brewing cycle, including brewhouse operations, cellaring, filtration, and packaging readiness
  • Skilled in core processes such as milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpooling, knockouts, gravity adjustments, yeast handling and disposal, dry hopping, carbonation, conditioning, and CIP/sanitation
  • Experience producing a variety of beverage types including beer, kombucha, and ready-to-drink products; comfortable with blending, flavoring, and RTD processing
  • Strong data tracking and analytical skills; able to match physical processes to digital records with accuracy
  • High attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset focused on safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities; self-starter who can manage priorities, solve problems, and support team success in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer proficiency - working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word


Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in ERP or other brewing and production systems
  • Experience in quality systems and process improvements (e.g., lean initiatives or equipment commissioning) and maintaining third party audit standards (e.g.,GFSI)
  • Brewing certifications or coursework


Working Conditions:

  • Fast paced and constantly changing work environment.
  • Subject to extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs and ladders throughout shift.
  • Ability to stand/move for 10-12 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, safety glasses, safety steel toe boots (as required by company policy), and bump caps.
  • Comfortable working in tight or enclosed spaces.


Schedule:

  • 10-hour shifts
  • Overtime including holidays and weekends as needed.

Pay:

  • Hourly Range: $23 - $31 per hour DOE


Shift Differential:

  • Between 5:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. = hourly + 10%
  • Between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. = hourly + 15%
  • All hours worked on Sat and Sun = hourly + 15%
