Ten Eyck Brewing Company is searching for an experienced Tap Room Manager to lead our tap room team into the next chapter of the craft beer story. We are an award-winning production brewery located on Maryland's Eastern Shore "The Land of Pleasant Living"! Maryland has it all; mountains, beaches, cities, suburbs, and country living. We are located 17 miles east of the Chesapeake Bay, and less than 2 hours west of Maryland and Delaware beaches. We are celebrating our fifth year of operations!

Ten Eyck Brewing Company is owned and operated by women veterans and first responders, with a mission to produce a wide variety of the highest quality, most delicious beers and ciders. Our onsite tasting room features 29 taps, views of the production floor, and an expansive patio and outdoor beer garden.


Our Tap Room Manager represents Ten Eyck Brewing Company with respect and passion. The ideal candidate loves craft beer, is extremely organized and detail oriented, and will strive to foster a positive working environment. Our GM must be motivated to lead a team of service professionals to grow our brand and business. This is a full-time position, with required hours on nights and weekends, and is located in Queenstown, Maryland. Our Manager must be hands-on and be willing to step in as needed, and reports to the CEO.


This position entails overseeing all tasting room operations, including but not limited to:

  • Guest experience and satisfaction
  • Leading the implementation of our brand education
  • In house event programming and implementation
  • FOH staff hiring, training, development, and scheduling


Job Responsibilities

  • Control of day-to-day tasting room operations and profit & loss, by following cash control/security/handling procedures, reviewing financial reports, creation of tap room SOPs
  • Foster and maintain a professional, friendly environment that is welcoming and exciting for all customers and staff
  • Ensure service excellence where the guest experience is the top priority
  • Hire, train, schedule & manage of all tasting room staff; monitor employee performance, review and approve employee hours
  • POS system knowledge
  • Inventory control, including clear & planned communication with the production team for inventory requests
  • Maintain daily cleanliness of the tasting room; organize cleaning & maintenance schedules and ensure all safety and sanitation guidelines are followed
  • Support the implementation and execution of marketing initiatives and company programs to promote new beers & ciders, and plan/execute impactful social events
  • Implement a FOH staff training program to ensure that all have a deep knowledge of all Ten Eyck products
  • Maintain records of customer feedback, employee communication and other daily occurrences
  • Understand and abide by Federal, State and Local regulations
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies
  • Other duties as assigned based on business needs


Skills & Qualifications

  • A passion for craft beer, and a love for customer service!
  • 2 years of bar or restaurant management experience
  • Knowledge of all beer styles (Cicerone Beer Server preferred)
  • Physically able to bend over, twist, kneel, climb stairs, and lift 55 pounds
  • Able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8-10 hours per day)
  • Flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends
  • Experience in training others
  • Initiative, work with minimal supervision, and keen ability to think on your feet
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, staff, and Ten Eyck team members
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to tactfully handle stressful and difficult situations
  • 21 years of age or older and hold a valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Point-Of-Sale Systems preferred
  • High school diploma or GED
  • BE NICE!
  • BE ON TIME!


This position requires a background check and successful completion of the TIPS On-Premise training class or any applicable alcohol server training as required by local, state, and Federal laws. This is a salaried position with performance-based incentives. Salary is commensurate with experience. This position requires that you have reliable transportation.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
