Pecana makes delicious shelf-stable pecan-based milks. We have strong marketing momentum and a broker network delivering real wins—including Walmart nationwide and 4k other retailers—with a robust pipeline. We’re hiring our first dedicated operations teammate to build, run, and continuously improve the operational backbone that powers scale.

The Role

Own day-to-day operations (EDI/SPS Commerce, order planning, vendor/3PL management, pricing/negotiation, retailer compliance, ERP administration) and support sales execution (forecast inputs, retail readiness). This is a hands-on builder role in a resource-lean environment. We currently use Cin7 Core and will continue to do so; ERP experience is required (Cin7 Core experience is preferred, not required).

What You’ll Do (100% Operations)

v Order-to-Cash & EDI

?       Own retailer/wholesaler EDI flows (850/855/856/810/945) with major translators; drive document accuracy and on-time ASNs.

?       Manage SPS Commerce relationship and work flows

?       New customer EDI set up and flow.

?       Manage retailer compliance (routing guides, ticketing/labels, pack & pallet specs, MABD/OTIF-style expectations).

v Planning & Fulfillment

?       Work with Sales department to convert demand signals (broker pipeline + marketing calendar) into SKU-weekly supply and allocation plans; maintain min/max and safety stock.

?       Schedule production/inbound POs; manage 3PL (RJW) wave/pick/ship and SLAs for ambient (shelf-stable) warehousing.



v Systems & Data (ERP)

?       Administer our ERP (Cin7 Core): items, pack configs, SO/PO flows, price lists, EDI integrations, reporting. If you haven’t used Cin7 Core, you’ll ramp quickly.

?       Publish source-of-truth dashboards for inventory, service level, backorders, and forecast accuracy.

v Vendors & Costing

?       Own vendor & 3PL relationships: quotes, price negotiations, lead times, and quarterly business reviews.

?       Maintain landed-cost inputs (freight-in, duties, accessorial) in ERP; support price-list updates.

v Quality & Compliance

?       Coordinate packaging/label changes, GS1/UPC management, case/pallet specs, and code dating suitable for shelf-stable products.

Success Looks Like (Core KPIs)

v = 98% EDI document accuracy & on-time transmission

v = 96% case-fill / on-time ship at 3PL

v = 1.0 stockouts per SKU per quarter; MAPE = 20% on A-SKUs

v < 10 business days from award to order-ready onboarding

v Zero preventable compliance chargebacks per quarter

What You’ve Done (Must-Haves)

v 3–7+ years in CPG operations with direct ownership of EDI, retailer compliance, and 3PL execution (shelf-stable/ambient preferred).

v EDI Mapping knowledge and experience. Preferably SPS Commerce experience

v Hands-on ERP ownership (required). Cin7 Core experience is a plus (not required) — or clear evidence you ramp quickly on new ERPs.

v Demonstrated order planning & allocation across multiple channels/retailers.

v Strong vendor/3PL management and price negotiation track record.

v Advanced Google Sheets/Excel; ability to turn messy data into reliable signals.

v Builder mindset comfortable as a first hire.

Nice to Have

v Experience launching into Target and/or Kroger (portals, EDI testing, routing, compliance).

v Walmart vendor/retail rollout familiarity.

v GS1/UPC management and packaging workflows.

v Experience with major EDI providers (SPS).

Reporting Line

Reports to the Director of Operations and Sales

Work Model & Travel

Remote. Light travel trade shows, or 3PL audits (~5-10%).

Compensation, Benefits, Plan

v Salary: 100,000

v Quarterly Bonus:

Ø 10% of realized COGS reduction realized in the quarter

Ø $1,000 bonus: = 96% case-fill / on-time ship at 3PL per quarter

Ø $1,000 bonus: = 1.0 stockouts per quarter

Ø $1,000 bonus: $Zero preventable compliance chargebacks per quarter

v 30/60 Plan

Ø 30 days: Take ownership of EDI flows/routing guides; audit item & pricing files; stabilize ERP (Cin7 Core) SO/PO setup; baseline inventory & service KPIs

Ø 60 days: Hit OTIF/fill targets; drive preventable chargebacks to zero; shorten launch lead times; roll out scalable playbooks for national wins.
