Maintenance Supervisor

Role Summary:

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor who will be responsible for our Canoga Park facility. As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be the one to ensure that the maintenance department has the best physical resources available to complete their duties according to budget. A great maintenance supervisor will have a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other crafts. They will be well-versed in all maintenance process, and health & safety regulations. The ideal candidate will also have aptitude in undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting, training, and managing maintenance technicians. The maintenance supervisor will be required to work with contractors and engineers to facilitate repairs and maintenance and include project planning for major overhauls and repair projects. This role will also require interfacing with different city and state regulatory agencies for annual inspections.

Job responsibilities:

• Continuous oversight and training of processing and packaging maintenance techs in area of maintenance.
• Management of contractors, vendors, and oversee the execution of their work.
• Continuous learning of processing and packaging processes through hands on training.
• Lead and coach teams through solving problems and monitoring of key operating processes and equipment utilizing lean manufacturing and six sigma methodology.
• Identify areas to improve operations in order to achieve or exceed key performance indicators and targets.
• Follow work instructions and OSHA safety rules, including the use of all PPE and other safety equipment in an industrial environment.
• Diagnose problems, replace and repair parts, detect and replace defective items, test and make final adjustments for high-speed production equipment.
• Perform manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
• Assist with administrative task such as parts ordering, PO# creation, vendor management, and attending relevant job meetings/project meetings, etc.
• Communicate, coordinate, and assist in work with outside contractors, vendors, and Property Managers/Landlords.
• Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.

Job Requirements:

• Comfort level with change, along with strong influencing skills catalyzing others to change.
• Solid interpersonal skills and team orientation.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related subject area strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills required; Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, high proficiency in excel and Computer applications.
• 3+ years previous supervisory/management experience in an industrial or service environment with proven leadership abilities
• 3+ years in operations and business processes
• Ability to identify key issues and propose practical solutions
• Ability to plan, prioritize and execute activities and projects
• Entry level experience with PLC programming in Allen Bradley PLCs, Panel Views and Motor controls
• 20% Travel to different company locations and occasional response to emergency situations to perform repair and maintenance work on weekends and after hours.

Physical Requirements

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
• Ability to lift, push or pull 50 pounds on occasion and 20 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to work seated or standing for at least 8 hours.
• Must be able to reach items at varying height levels (on shelves, on ground, etc.).
• Kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
• Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, and water.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• On call (Emergencies)
• May need to occasionally work on weekends or off shift hours.

Experience:

• Managerial: 2 years (Preferred)
• Maintenance: minimum 4 years industrial mechanical/electrical or 2 year technical degree (Required)

Pay: $70,304.00 - $80,000.00 per year
