Earlier this month, BevNET Live Winter ’13 transformed the Loews Santa Monica Hotel into the nexus for networking and learning in the beverage industry. Well over 500 entrepreneurs, executives, suppliers, distributors, retailers and investors packed into the conference hall to take in presentations and panel discussions, as well as fun: the sixth edition of BevNET’s signature competition for start-up brands, the New Beverage Showdown, and announcements and presentations for the 16 winners of BevNET’s Best of 2013 awards.
Start-up beverage companies and individuals new to the industry were also invited to an intimate Beverage School, where topics comprised a ‘Beverage Industry 101’ crash course, ranging from formulation & packaging design to raising capital and routes to market.
The heart of the networking opportunities, the BevNET Live Expo, gave industry-leading formulators, flavor houses, co-packers and other service and supplier companies a unique chance to connect with the 140-plus unique beverage companies in attendance. The Expo was immediately followed by a cocktail hour where exhibitors, speakers and attendees alike were able to unwind and delve into informal business conversation.
