Black, Woman-Owned Tequila Brand Launches Crowdfunding Campaign to Fuel Growth and Innovation

[Fort Worth, Texas] – October 2024 – Rikki Kelly, the visionary founder of EGO Tequila, a rapidly growing Black, woman-owned tequila brand, has announced the launch of a crowdfunding campaign on Seed At The Table. The campaign, set to go live on October 18th, aims to raise $300,000 to propel the brand's expansion and introduce new additive-free tequila expressions.

Since its inception in July 2021, EGO Tequila has garnered enthusiastic support from consumers, establishing itself as a favorite among tequila enthusiasts. Despite early success, the brand has encountered challenges typical of startups, including supply chain disruptions and securing adequate funding to meet soaring demand. Following a strategic pause to refine its business model, EGO Tequila is now poised for a significant re-launch.

"We're thrilled to embark on this next phase of our journey," said Rikki Kelly. "With thebacking of our community and the funds from this campaign, we're confident in our abilityto bring our new, high-quality, additive-free tequila expressions to market and furtherexpand our brand.” Hosted on Seed At The Table, a platform dedicated to supporting diverse founders, the crowdfunding campaign will finance the production and launch of new tequila expressions and support additional growth initiatives.

In addition to fundraising, EGO Tequila has bolstered its advisory board with seasoned professionals from marketing, finance, and sales backgrounds. These advisors bring extensive experience from industry giants such as Diageo, Brown-Forman, and the NFL, providing invaluable insights as the brand navigates its next chapter.

Facing challenges in securing capital through traditional means, Rikki Kelly turned to crowdfunding, inspired by a quote from Melissa Bradley, “In an environment where traditional funding can be elusive for diverse founders, an empowering alternative such as crowdfunding offers a critical lifeline, helping them to overcome barriers and build thriving businesses.” With determination and community support, EGO Tequila aims to overcome any obstacles on its path to success. The campaign on Seed At The Table offers participants the opportunity to receive an equity stake in the brand, along with exclusive incentives such as early access to the new tequila expressions and other perks.
