BevNET Review: This is a nice addition to the Kalahari line. Using a sweetener and fruit flavoring definitely perks up the at-times cloying flavor of rooibos, while not totally crowding out the tea taste. As always, it’s in Kalahari’s superior packaging, highlighting the tea’s African origins. Highly drinkable and a nice treat for red tea fans.Reviewed on: 8/7/2006

BevNET Review: This premium decaf RTD red tea from Kalahari has a nice balance of lemon, tea and sweetness in a handsome package that tastefully expresses the company’s South African roots. The idea of blending red tea (rooibos) and decaffeinated black creates a strong tea flavor that doesn’t incorporate the occasional grassiness that straight rooibos can cause; the cane sugar and lemon flavor make it taste like a just-brewed decaf iced tea. As for the bottle, it’s apparent that some work went into the PET product’s label design: the front has a handsome, well-organized red “badge” with a background map of Africa, while there are explanations of rooibos overall and Ladysmith Lemon’s particular characteristics on the back. BevNET Review: This subtle blend of red tea (rooibos) and cranberry flavors is not too sweet and has just enough berry flavor to make the taste appear without being overwhelming. As with the lemon flavor of Kalahari, the rooibos flavor is managed without being overwhelming; the label is attractive and has high production values and the product itself is caffeine free. It’s definitely thirst-quenching and has no rough edges. Worth a try for decaf tea fans.Reviewed on: 10/18/2005

BevNET Review: Mombasa Mango is a relatively refreshing tea beverage that is made with a premium rooibos herb and green tea blend. Sweetened with cane sugar and flavored with natural mango flavor, it has a clean and crisp finish. It's an enjoyable brew, but one that we probably wouldn't go out of our way to pick up. The labeling is hard to read due to its use of contrasting red and green colors that underlay the text. In addition, there's just too much going on in the relatively small front panel of the bottle. Honestly (no pun intended), if this were side by side with Honest Tea (which has a very clean design) we'd never pick this product. Our recommendation is to make a simpler, more vibrant package with less text. Until then, it would be very easy to skip this product as we don't see what value it offers over other products that are currently on the market.Reviewed on: 10/18/2005

BevNET Review: Despite not being easily distinguished from the red/green teas used as the base of this product, the pomegranate flavor has combined with the tea to make something that's actually quite enjoyable. The sweet flavor of this tea helps hide the slightly grassy notes found in some of the other varieties and there's just the slightest splash of tart fruit flavor in its finish. Like the others, we think the packaging is a bit overdone and a simplified version would definitely make a big impact on this product's ultimate success. Still, we like the flavor and that will definitely mean repeat purchasing and good pull-through -- assuming consumers notice it the first time around.Reviewed on: 10/18/2005
