BevNET Review:
There's a pretty strong taste of artificial sweetener in this energy drink, which is less than pleasant. The lack of high fructose corn syrup creates a lighter body, but it still has that generic taste of energy drink. That's not necessarily the worst thing in the world, but the can's washed-out look is also highly generic. All in all, it's only real pull will be for the "Crocodile Hunter" fan or the value buyer. We'd suggest a different flavor profile and some cleanup in the can design ("less is more").

Mad Croc Energy Drink has undergone a transformation since its original version, which landed it in a heap of trouble with Red Bull. This time, they've clearly learned from their mistakes, giving the product a fresh look that certainly can't be called a "knock off." However, the design is somewhat busy and there are many elements competing for your eye. We like the look of the red crocodile and the font treatment on the "Mad-Croc" name, but the rest of the design doesn't add much to the drink. We'd suggest focusing on the croc and the logo, dropping "energy with bite" tag line, and making the can less silver. The formula, on the other hand, hasn't changed at all. It's still a bubblegum flavor with a noticeable "energy" finish. We'd suggest giving the flavor a makeover as well.
