Review: Appeal (2010)

Starting with a base of 25 percent aloe vera juice, ALO Appeal blends in pomelo, pink grapefruit, and lemon juices and sweetens the mixture with sugar. The resulting product is one of our favorite flavors of ALO, with a sharp citrus flavor that pairs nicely with the soft flavor of the aloe. It’s sweet, but not too sweet, with the liquid having a light mouth feel while pieces of aloe pulp give the product some variety of texture. All in all, this is definitely the most marketable tasting flavor of the ALO line. Packaging looks just like the other ALO flavors, utilizing a square shaped 16.9 oz. hot fill bottle. It has that same healthy vibe that we’ve seen in their other flavors, although the front panel does feel somewhat cluttered to us. In addition, we don’t understand the appeal of the name “Appeal," which sounds like a functional name of some sort. Rebranding this as “Citrus” or something that speaks to the flavor would certainly help create a more appealing product. Overall, it’s really good, but changing up the name would make it more marketable.
