Review: Goodnight Rose

Goodnight Rose is a mellow and floral-tasting kombucha that is, as the name states, flavored with rose petals. Normally, rose is one of those flavors that is pretty assertive; people tend to either love it or hate it. But in this product, the rose flavor tastes slightly transformed thanks to it having the backdrop of oolong tea-based kombucha. The lightly fermented flavor does a nice job of keeping the rose flavor in check, and it has an almost hibiscus-like flavor as a result. Like every kombucha out there, this product has some sweetness to it, but it’s far from sweet (it has 5g of sugars per 8 oz.). Ultimately, it feels like something that will appeal to an adult palate. The product’s packaging is, like the other flavors, a 16 oz. apothecary-style glass bottle. It has a very buttoned up look to it thanks to clean graphic design and minimal use of color (each variety is black and white with a single accent color). The name is simple and easy to understand, while also maintaining a little bit of personality. All in all, this is a very enjoyable and well-executed addition to the lineup.
