Of the three Boylan Heritage varieties, Ginger is the only one that we could see being consumed straight up in addition to being a mixer. Either way, this product is, as the label copy suggests, “bold and balanced.” It’s spicy, but not hot, with a flavor that should be strong enough to hold up with a variety of beverages. Boylan has also added key lime extract, which seems to give the product a slight citrusy zing to its finish. All in all, this is a well-crafted product in terms of what’s inside the bottle. On the outside, a 10 oz. glass bottle and a label that’s simple-looking and very clean set the stage nicely for what’s inside the bottle. Putting the emphasis on the flavor and keeping the brand very subtle is an interesting move, but one that is likely going to help it make its way into higher end on-premise accounts. Plus, we think it complements Boylan's core brand quite nicely. Overall, a sophisticated addition to the Boylan’s family that succeeds with high quality execution.
