BevNET Review
When the original Coco Cafe variety came out a few years ago, we were certain that we were witnessing something that had the potential to take the RTD coffee category by storm. The product was simple in flavor, but super timely and innovative in its use of coconut water. However, there was a big question mark for the product: how would the company add additional flavors to the line? Vanilla, is something that is, in our opinion, even better than the original. If you’ve had the original Vita Coco Cafe, the similarities, both in flavor and visual appearance, are pretty striking. The product is, first and foremost, a latte drink, with the equivalent of one espresso shot, low fat milk, vanilla, and sugar providing the majority of the flavor. The coconut water, which is the primary ingredient in the drink, adds a subtle undertone that seems to enhance the coffee and vanilla flavors and take the product to a level that isn’t easily achieved by a standard vanilla flavored RTD coffee. Visually, the 11.1 oz. Tetra Pak carton looks great and we appreciate the use of the Dreamcap top, which is super easy to drink from. Otherwise, the front panel of the carton is clean and easy on the eyes. The design has changed somewhat since the brand was under the Coco Cafe banner, but the changes are ultimately for the better. The new design is clean and very polished looking and is a very nice complement to the rest of the Vita Coco line. Overall, we’re big fans of this product.
