BevNET Review
We’ve had so many “mocha” flavored ready-to-drink coffee beverages in our day that it would be difficult to give an exact count. And honestly, while many of them were quite good, very few of them had flavor that was that memorable or different from the competition. Fortunately for Vita Coco Cafe, its Mocha flavor is an exception to the norm. The product does a great job of blending coconut water, coffee, milk, cocoa powder, and sugar to create something that’s balanced but full of flavor. We really like the light flavor of the coconut water, which definitely enhances the experience of the drink. Plus, the company has kept the sweetness under control, which is another huge point of differentiation (most coffee drinks have way too much sugar, in our opinion). The chocolate flavor is the finishing touch, which, being derived from cocoa powder, has a very accurate but slightly indulgent taste. But like the sugar, it’s been used with restraint, which we definitely appreciate. Visually, this flavor has a darker colored backdrop than the other two flavors. This makes it stand out as the visually dominant flavor of the bunch. Otherwise, the execution is on par with the others, with a cleanly designed front panel and a very functional 11.1 oz Tetra Pak carton with a brown Dreamcap. Overall, an excellent product that is one of the best RTD coffee drinks that we’ve ever had.
