Frizzante is a line of 100 percent natural sparkling juice drinks that comes in three flavors. For better or worse, the entire lineup is based on apple juice, meaning that the flavored varieties don’t actually have other fruits in them (they uses essences, a type of flavoring). In the case of this flavor, Cheery Cherry, that results in a product that basically tastes like sparkling apple juice with a splash of cherry flavor. If it’s an apple drink they want to be, it’s perfectly fine in terms of flavor, but it drinks more like a kids' drink than the adult oriented that the branding seems to be trying to establish. Speaking of the packaging, the 12 oz. long neck bottle feels like soda as opposed to something that is selling itself as having two servings of fruit. Furthermore, the lack of a twist cap is a big issue from a practical perspective. Otherwise, we’re really not sure what they are going for with this product’s brand. It sounds like something Italian, but it’s from Virginia. And it’s being marketed as “pure 100% fizzy juice,” but it looks like soda. Ultimately, we think they need to commit to one direction or another, both in terms of visuals and flavor, if this is going to succeed. Beyond that, it’s a concept that we find somewhat hard to get excited about.
