Review: Strawberry Banana

The Strawberry Banana flavor of Green Mustache Smoothies was our favorite flavor of the initial line -- and it still is the second go around as well. With high pressure processing (HPP) now part of equation, the flavor is even better. It starts out with a classic strawberry banana smoothie and then adds a host of other ingredients, including fruits and veggies (including kale and spinach), coconut water and ground chia. The flavor is still very much that of a strawberry and banana smoothie, but with a slight twist to the finish. To that end, it’s certainly something that kids will enjoy (at least ours did), while parents will appreciate the vitamins, minerals, fiber (5g), and protein (3g). On the outside, we really like the switch to a 12 oz. bottle and the use of HPP. It definitely looks more on-trend and has a stronger shelf presence. Visually, the use of a mustache -- which is, at least currently, a trendy thing with kids -- gives the product a playful and not so serious look. It’s clean in execution and leaves a lasting impression with kids. Overall, a very enjoyable and well-executed product.
