Using a blend of beet, apple, cucumber, romaine lettuce, dandelion, and lime, Joni Juice’s Beet Me is one of the more pleasant tasting high pressure processed (HPP) beet juice-based beverages that we’ve sampled. It’s definitely less harsh than some of the juices that are using celery or another strong flavor. In this case, the romaine and dandelion are pretty subtle, serving mainly to cut the otherwise strong flavor of the beets. The same can be said about the lime, which also adds a nice citrus note at the end. All in all the combination is very drinkable and clean, which we find to be quite enjoyable. However, we do wonder (as we do with all HPP juice companies that are using conventional ingredients) if a switch to organic would make a difference or not. As for the outside, the product is one of the better looking flavors. This is mainly due to the use of a darker color on the label, which makes for something that is much easier to read than some of the other varieties. Still, it feels a bit too plain in the type treatment and layout. Overall, this is one of the better tasting flavors from Joni Juice, although it’s not overly clear as to how this product will differentiate itself from the competition. That, pared with a need for better graphic design, seem to be the two most important areas for the company to focus in improving the line.
