o2living: Lemon Twist Kidney Booster

O2 Living’s Lemon Twist is a blend of raw ginger, lemon and apple juices that have been cold pressed and high pressure processed. The simplicity and balance of this particular blend is outstanding, with a hefty dose of ginger flavor that doesn’t overwhelm the palate with spice. The lemon and apple juices are, of course, to thank for this, with the sharpness of the lemon and sweetness of the apple giving the product a whole other layer of flavor. We really like O2’s approach here, leading with ginger rather than making it an add-on as is typically the case with most raw juice brands. However, O2 Living has a lot of work to do when it comes to the branding and positioning. Starting with the design and overall aesthetic of the brand, it feels very much like a rough first effort. From a visual perspective, the branding for O2 Living could be much stronger, and its placement in the middle of the logo doesn’t seem like the best place for it. In addition, there’s just too much going on on the front panel. We’d kill most of the text and hone in on the raw aspect of the product. We’d also remove the “kidney booster” callout, which is an unnecessary functional claim. Overall, what’s inside the bottle is magnificent, but the outside definitely needs to improve if O2 Living hopes to compete with some of the brands that are currently on the market.
