BevNET Review
The Cinnamon Infused variety is our favorite flavor of Hibi Hibiscus Flower tea, but we say that with reservations. This is the sweetest flavor of the bunch (16g of sugar per 8 oz. serving), but it’s also the most mainstream tasting. The combination of hibiscus, cinnamon, and sugar works quite well, resulting in something that has a subtle floral flavor and is quite refreshing. However, it’s pretty confusing that this product also comes in a sugar-free variety and that each flavor in the line has different sugar content (the other two sweetened flavors have 11g and 8g). That said, the company really need to do something about the label design. It’s neither visually appealing or effective at communicating the flavor or differences between the four flavors. Using a professional package designer would certainly help as it seems like they need a fresh start. Our only suggestion would be to call this variety “Original,” which would make it more straightforward and obvious as to which product is the flagship. Overall, the concept and the flavor are enjoyable, although not standout, and the packaging needs an overhaul. While that might sound bad, we realize this is a first effort -- and it’s one that certainly seems worth pursuing.
