Slingshot Yogurt Protein Drink: Powerplant 2015

Much like the other flavors of Slingshot, the Powerplant variety features a high protein base of drinkable yogurt and a shot of crunchy ingredients around the drink’s cap. This particular flavor blends in ingredients that are typical of a green juice, including pineapple, spinach, ginger, and turmeric. While the color of the liquid is green (and you’ll even see what looks like some bits of pulp in the liquid), this definitely is not a product that’s heavy on spinach flavor. Instead, the mildly sweet product is pleasant tasting with notes of pineapple and ginger to complement the yogurt. Adding the shot of dry ingredients, which contains toasted oats, chia seeds, almonds and honey, is a must as it adds both texture and another dimension of flavor. The combined product is really quite enjoyable and, thanks to the 18g of protein and 320 calories that it has, something that certainly can satisfy hunger or be a light meal. Visually, we’re definitely fans. Thanks to the addition of the shot around the neck, the product has a distinct and engaging appearance. Otherwise, the product has a good for you look to it, which is certainly the right approach for a product of this type. All in all, a very nice addition to the Slingshot lineup.
