ZÛN: Zun Regular

While they aren’t discontinuing their proprietary rocket ship bottle, ZUN has added a more practical 16 oz. can to their lineup. Inside the can, it’s exactly the same product, which is a sugar sweetened watermelon flavored energy drink. Just like the bottled product, it’s sweet and fruity, which makes for a pretty enjoyable drinking experience. Plus, the 16 oz. size gives more kick (and CoQ10 and choline) compared to the 12 oz. bottle, assuming you drink the whole thing. As for the can, Zun did a nice job of creating a clean-looking design. It’s hard to say if it’s ultimately for better or worse -- this format isn’t as eye catching but definitely seems like something that a consumer would drink as opposed to storing on a book shelf because it looks cool. That said, the can itself feels like something with a lighthearted vibe to it -- a stick figure with a rocket ship flying out of it certainly doesn’t have the aggressive or male oriented vibe that so many other energy drinks do. Overall, it’s a nice adaptation and it certainly could outsell the bottle.
