BevNET Live will welcome one of the natural products business’ original heroes and reflect on the power of capital infusion within one of its most popular emerging categories.
The event, held on June 6 and 7 at the Metropolitan West in Manhattan, will feature a talk from Gary Hirshberg, the founder of Stonyfield Farm yogurt and one of the best-known voices of the entrepreneurial food and beverage movement.
During his career, Hirshberg has become an investor in and board member of multiple food and beverage companies. It’s from that perspective, while drawing on his own experience as a veteran entrepreneur and operator — that he will be speaking on the financial rules that the next generation of beverage companies will need to understand as they go forward.
Hirshberg will share thoughts on the state of investment in food and beverage companies, as well as the ways that entrepreneurs and boards should think about planning, shaping, and executing investment and exit deals. As a member of the board of brands like Stonyfield, Annie’s, Applegate, Honest Tea, Late July and Sweet Earth, Hirshberg has been inside the deal process multiple times, and his experience will provide a valuable, memorable perspective for entrepreneurs in the current and future investment markets.
Hirshberg is just one of several new speakers who have been added to the event. BevNET Live will also feature the following valuable talks:
- A special panel exploring the effects of investment on emerging companies and categories, featuring the leaders of three different leading kombucha companies: Jamie Danek, the Founder & CEO of Humm Kombucha, Daina Trout, CEO & Co-Founder of Health-Ade Kombucha, and Sean Lovett, the CEO and Founder of Revive Kombucha
- Jon Sebastiani, the Founder of Sonoma Brands, discussing the channel selection for launching and incubating brands, and ways of finding the correct audience and engagement strategy to create “sticky” products
- Howard Telford, Euromonitor International’s Head of Soft Drink Research, speaking on the strength of the US soft drinks industry in 2018 and the forces affecting the configuration of the industry five years from now, including the effects of consumer shifts, key trends, and economic drivers.
In addition to its speaker content, the BevNET Live experience also encompasses special beverage sampling and networking opportunities, as well as the New Beverage Showdown and Beverage School, which will take place on June 5 for newer entrepreneurs. Registration is ongoing — and the event will sell out, so sign up soon!
