Since its launch in 2011, BevNET’s New Beverage Showdown has provided a powerful showcase for early-stage beverage brands. The competition, now in its tenth edition, offers new companies with innovative formulations, novel ingredients, and on-trend branding a unique opportunity to present their products and business plans to an expert judging panel of industry leaders.
Facing the pressure of presenting in front of hundreds of beverage executives in attendance at BevNET Live conferences, the companies have also given the audience a glimpse of the ways the beverage business is expanding. But what happens after the Showdown, after the big check from Coca-Cola’s VEB unit (which sponsors of the competition) has been cashed, after brands get back to business?
In a panel to be held at the upcoming BevNET Live Winter 2015 event, audience members will have the opportunity to hear how the market treats fledgling beverage brands, even those that have emerged as winners of the competition. The panel will feature a trio of Showdown winners for a look at how the competition’s best and brightest have fared since their time on stage. Through the eyes of recent winners Daina Trout, the CEO and co-founder of Health-Ade, Daren Myers, the co-founder of Rau Chocolate and Austin Allan, the founder of Tio Gazpacho, attendees will get a look at the sales, distribution and investment opportunities that have emerged for these companies — and how they have set the course for their next steps in development. The three entrepreneurs will also discuss the ways they incorporated judges’ feedback into subsequent updates in formulation and packaging.
This exclusive panel will take place at BevNET Live Winter 2015, which will be held once again at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel on Dec. 7 and 8. The event will once again feature the New Beverage Showdown on both days, and a half-day Beverage School session, designed for newcomers to the industry, on Dec. 6.
