The founders of a pair of young but fast-growing companies with useful, non-traditional, tactical advice for their fellow entrepreneurs will each hit the stage at BevNET Live in Santa Monica this Dec. 5 and 6.
A recent Edelman Earned Brand study indicated that 6 in 10 consumers will only purchase a brand if it meets its societal obligations — and that reflects the power and loyalty that can be earned by those brands that are able to express their role or purpose. One such brand is WTRMLN WTR, which has the elimination of food waste as a core tenet of its brand proposition.
BevNET Live will feature a presentation from WTRMLN WTR co-founder and creative director Jody Levy on the importance of mission and story in an entrepreneurial business, and the ways to share that story meaningfully. An expert in using experiential and social communications platforms for both client brands and her own, Levy’s talk will be of use to brands that understand that having a meaning and a cause needs to be something that permeates all levels of an organization, from employees to investors to overall operational strategy. Levy’s talk promises to be fun, entertaining, and offer a real glimpse of the virtuous cycle that a meaningful brand can engender for a company and its environment.
Additionally, BevNET Live will be able to explore the changing ways brands can launch in online and real world environments during a presentation from Orion Melehan and Aaron Hinde, the co-founders of LifeAID, an emerging functional beverage company based in Santa Cruz, Calif. The pair will discuss the tactics that they have deployed while growing their brand through a non-traditional sales channels, including their online sales platform and use of a heavily segmented event- and location-driven retailing approach that relies on locating and activating “tribes” of users through social media. The pair will also offer best practices for timing and executing a move into more traditional retailing channels from these unorthodox but increasingly relevant initial consumer approaches.
