When a brand is taking off, how do you decide it’s the right time to capitalize on its growth?
That’s the heart of the issue a panel at BevNET Live (December 6-8) will explore, taking attendees inside the deal-making process that led to the sale of St. Agrestis, maker of Phony Negroni, to The Wine Group.
The panel will bring together key figures from the deal, including Louie Catizone, co-founder of Phony Negroni and The Wine Group CMO Helen Kurtz, and Kevin O’Brien, Managing Director of CriticalPoint. They’ll discuss the kinds of strategic adjustments made by the St. Agrestis team as it came to understand the power of Phony Negroni as a breakout hit, the factors that ultimately convinced them to reach out for a strategic partner to govern the next stage of the company’s development, and the ways that O’Brien, their investment banker, was able to position the company for sale.
Attendees will learn not just how one deal came to fruition, but also gain a lens on how they can look at their own brands as candidates for potential investment. As a way of helping founders understand the strategic perspective, Kurtz will discuss the ways The Wine Group sought to benefit through the deal and what its methods were for testing the ability of the Phony Negroni to fit within its portfolio.
