The Two Aromatic White Wines, Including a Heritage Chenin Blanc Varietal, Join the Family-Run Winery’s Collection of California Wines
CLARKSBURG, Calif. – March 4, 2026 – Third-generation family-owned Bogle Family Vineyards announced today the addition of two new varietals to its portfolio of California wines: Bogle 2025 Chenin Blanc and Bogle 2025 Riesling. Produced from Bogle’s estate vineyards in Northern California’s Clarksburg AVA, the inaugural national releases of Chenin Blanc and Riesling will be available at select retailers nationwide beginning March 2026, each with a suggested retail price of $11.
Bogle’s national release of these wines comes as white varietals continue to be a bright spot for the wine industry. Aromatic white wines continue to grow in popularity, with Chenin Blanc striking a chord with younger consumers discovering the varietal for the first time. These new additions to the Bogle portfolio also support the popularity of lower-alcohol wines among consumers looking to moderate their consumption. Naturally lower in alcohol content, Bogle’s new Chenin Blanc and Riesling varietals have 11.5% and 10.5% alcohol by volume, respectively.
Chenin Blanc has been a heritage grape variety for the Bogle family since the founding of the winery nearly 60 years ago. The Bogle family, who had been farming in the area since the 1870s, planted their first 20 acres of wine grapes in 1968, with 10 of those acres being Chenin Blanc. This aromatic wine has notes of citrus blossoms, cantaloupe melon and white jasmine, with a layered palate of fresh, juicy pear, vibrant lemon and a delicate undertone of ginger. Planted in 2004, Riesling has also been grown by the family for over 20 years. This off-dry Riesling has balanced acidity and a touch of sweetness, with delicate aromas of jasmine and honeysuckle, followed by bright flavors of ripe pear and apricot. Both wines have undergone 100% stainless steel fermentation to preserve the crisp flavors and vibrant acidity of these varieties.
“Our family can trace its grape-growing history back to Chenin Blanc, so we’re excited to bring this particular wine to a national audience,” explained Jody Bogle, Vice President of Consumer Relations. “Although we already had many years of farming under our belt, it wasn’t until 1968, when my grandfather planted the area’s first vineyards, that we realized the land’s true potential. The dense clay soils and cooling breezes from the Sacramento River make our vineyards and the wider Clarksburg AVA perfect for both Chenin Blanc and Riesling.”
Bogle’s Chenin Blanc and Riesling were grown in certified sustainable estate vineyards. The Clarksburg AVA was established in 1984, and spans over 64,000 acres across Sacramento, Yolo and Solano counties. Clarksburg has a long legacy of growing quality Chenin Blanc and other aromatic white wines, with the river’s Delta cool breezes, moderate temperature and alluvial soils creating ideal conditions for producing concentrated and complex fruit.
