In our latest addition to the agenda, we’re pleased to announce that BevNET Live Summer ’14 will feature a presentation and panel discussion introducing attendees to a variety of strategies for approaching, receiving investment from, and maintaining relationships with family offices, a class of investors that varies in size and intent but is often well-suited to partnership with growing beverage enterprises.
The investment vehicle for maintaining the wealth of high-net-worth individuals and families on a generational basis, family offices have played key investment roles in the growth of companies from Vitaminwater to Steaz, from HoneyDrop to Body Armor to Runa, and many others. But there are quirks: privacy and respect for the office, varying degrees of professional involvement, ranges of risk tolerance and a wide set of sizes and even core purposes.
To decode those quirks – and introduce BevNET Live attendees to some sample family office operations – we will turn to an insider and an outsider: Jeremy Friedman, a former Managing Director with family office Palm Ventures and a current advisor to New Ground Ventures, and Michael Burgmaier, Managing Director at investment bank Silverwood Partners, will offer views on the best ways to court – and to evaluate — family offices as potential investors.
