Last Thursday, June 12, a bevy of Vegas showgirls set the stage for the unveiling of the first advertiser-imaged train of the Las Vegas Monorail. The monorail, scheduled to open in early 2004, will transport millions of visitors each year between the casino resorts of the Las Vegas Strip and the Las Vegas Convention Center. The monorail trains will be emblazoned with spectacular themes by the world’s most creative advertisers. Hansen’s Beverage Company, the systems first advertiser, will pay the Las Vegas Monorail Company $1-million per yea for ten years for the right to image the interior and exterior of the monorail’s first train to promote it’s Monster Energy™ drink. New York is the first stop as the monorail makes its journey from the Bombardier manufacturing facility in Kingston, Ontario, Canada to its home on the Las Vegas Strip.
