Amy & Brian’s take on coconut water is “coconut juice”, which is a Thailand sourced product that’s made from the juice (aka water) of young coconuts. From a flavor perspective, Amy & Brian’s is sweeter and more salty than almost anything that we’ve sampled in this category. To that end, the product feels heavier in the mouth, which might impact how one uses this product (it's too heavy to consume during physical activity, in our opinion). On the outside, the product feels like it is going for a different type of consumer than other coconut water products. Specifically, it feels like something that is better suited for the juice category, starting with their use of the word “juice” in the product name. It also lacks the "active" feel that's found in many of the other brands that are on the market – and to us, that seems like a bigger opportunity than the juice aisle. Overall, the product definitely feels like a high quality one, both in taste and appearance, but its positioning is potentially the limiting factor.
