BevNET Review: Celery soda? Why? This stuff was one of the few beverages that no one on the BevNET! staff enjoyed. Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray is quite strange tasting. The closest thing we could think of was concentrate orange juice with no sugar. It's not too sweet and tastes absolutely horrible. Celery was just one of those things that was not meant to be good in a beverage.

Had my first can in 1953 when I first started work on Madison Avenue in New York. Every deli worth its corn beef and pastrami had Dr. Brown's Celery Tonic -- hey, that's what they called it until the feds asked "What's this stuff they call a 'tonic'?" Thus Cel-Ray. I still call it Celery Tonic ... and that's what it is. I dare you to try it. It's a kick.

This is the best soft drink on earth! I've been drinking it for 40+ yrs. Clearly an acquired taste.

This is the only only only soda that can cut thru the greasiness of a corned beef or pastrami sandwich. The flavor is celery and it's an acquired taste. Don't expect to love it immediately. It grows on you. It's not the usually overly sweet junk. It adds a certain Old World flavor to your delicatessen experience.

The Dr. Brown Cel-Ray is really good. The first time I tried it it tasted really sweet and it had a light celery taste that was good and refreshing. I would recommend this drink to anyone who loves soda.

Cel-Ray is very unique and very good. The flavor has a distinct touch of celery without being too strong. I like all of the Dr. Brown sodas. Cel-Ray is my favorite!

I found this soda about 10 years ago and think it awesome. No, it's not sickening sweet, but it's refreshing, crisp, and is great when paired with a meal. I think your staff needs to branch out a bit. Their taste buds are bit too mainstream.

Next time you have a Bloody Mary or 2, cut back on the mix and use some Cel Ray. Tastes unbelievably good.

I grew up drinking Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray Soda and it is a wonderful blend of celery and carbonate that's not overpowering. It's refreshing and crisp. This is a soda that I love and it goes well with Pastrami sandwiches. Thanks Dr. Brown for creating such a great blend for the taste buds!

Your reviewers need to educate their taste buds and do a little homework. For over 40 years of my life I have delighted at the unique flavor and spice of dr browns celray. I must have it at every jewish holiday. and anytime a pastrami sandwich is present.
