Cherry Limeade

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: Hubert’s Cherry Limeade is a 10 percent lime juice-based beverage that is sweetened with sugar and stevia. When you try this, you’ll quickly realize that 10 percent lime juice makes for a very tart and mouth-puckering flavor, which is exactly how we’d describe this drink. From there, the addition of the cherry flavor (which they’ve used somewhat sparingly) helps balance things out, while a moderate level of sweetness rounds things out. For a stevia-enhanced drink, you’d hardly know it, with the tart and tangy flavor masking it well. Nutritionally, this product is what we’d describe as “reduced calorie,” with 80 calories and 17g of sugar per 8 oz. serving. On the packaging front, this product fits nicely with the rest of the Hubert’s line. The clear label and minimalist graphics make it easy on the eyes and help it achieve a high quality feeling. Overall, a very nice addition to the Hubert’s lineup.Reviewed on: 3/9/2012

Limeade

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: Hubert’s Limeade uses a 10 percent base of lime juice concentrate, which gives the product a very potent lime flavor. It’s sweetened with a blend of sugar and stevia, although there’s absolutely no detectable stevia flavor, which might be the result of low levels of stevia or it being masked by the tart and acidic flavor. Either way, at 160 calories per 16 oz. bottle, it’s an extremely drinkable product that delivers flavor that’s on par with the frozen concentrate limeade drinks that you’d find in a grocery freezer. Packaging is clean and wholesome, but also gives off a vibe of being a premium product. We like the playfulness of the lime character on the front of the label, which they’ve managed to do without making the product look corny. Also, we like their choice of bottle, which is taller and thinner than the stock 16 oz. bottle that’s used by so many other brands. All in all, this is a very straightforward but well executed product – exactly the type of product that we could see consumers purchasing on a regular basis. Reviewed on: 4/4/2011

Strawberry Lemonade

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: While we’re not overly wild about strawberry flavoring (it never tastes like real strawberries), this variety of Hubert’s Lemonade has a heavy dose of lemon flavor (from 10 percent juice) and sweetness (from sugar and stevia) that still make for a very enjoyable experience. However, the addition of the strawberry flavor doesn’t really add anything to that enjoyment – and we’d probably stick with one of their core lemonade flavors instead. Packaging is the same as the other Hubert’s flavors, with the notable exceptions being the pink color of the liquid and the addition of strawberry images to the lower portion of the front panel. While these changes don’t really impact our overall feeling on the packaging (it’s very nice, just like the other Hubert’s), they do make it very easy to identify this product as being a berry flavored variety. Overall, it’s a good entry, but we’re much more fond of some of their other flavors.Reviewed on: 4/4/2011

Mango Lemonade

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: Using a base of 10 percent lemon juice, the base lemon flavor that makes up this product is very enjoyable. They've sweetened the mix with sugar and stevia, but the stevia will be hard to detect for the average consumer. The mango flavor, which comes from flavoring, is good, but the quality of the product would, at least from a marketability point of view, be improved if mango were actually on the list of ingredients. But as a mainstream oriented lemonade, they've done a very nice job of nailing the flavor and the balance between the two fruit flavors as it's not too sweet and not too sour. We love what they've done with the packaging, using a minimalist looking label that helps create a sense of history and quality going into this product. It's the type of product that will definitely look great on both the store shelves and in your hand. Definitely one of the better lemonade products that we've seen in a while.Reviewed on: 11/8/2010

Original Lemonade

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: The flagship variety of the Hubert's Lemonade brand is a good one, both in terms of products that use stevia and sugar blends and lemonade in general. The ingredient list is very straightforward, with sugar, water, lemon juice, citric acid, natural flavor, and stevia (rebiana). And that's exactly how we'd describe the flavor inside the bottle, with a big lemon flavor that's clean and enjoyable. Best of all, you really cannot taste the stevia, which exists only to help keep the calories and sugar content in check (70 calories and 15g of sugar). The packaging is clean and playful, with a retro style font and lemon icon working as a nice tribute to the founder of Hansen's for which this drink is named. Overall, a very enjoyable product with top notch execution.Reviewed on: 11/8/2010

Raspberry Lemonade

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: Hubert's Raspberry Lemonade is their take on the classic beverage known as "pink lemonade." Like the other flavors in the Hubert's Lemonade lineup, they've started with a base of 10% lemon juice. From there, they've added sugar, natural flavors (extract of raspberries), citric acid, and stevia, which helps control the caloric and sugar content. It's a rather clean drinking experience, although the raspberry flavor is not as accurate tasting as the honey or mango flavors that are found in some of the other flavors. However, the appearance of this flavor, which has a pink backdrop from the color of the liquid, is one of the best of the bunch, with the yellow lemon logo really popping out at you. Overall, a more natural tasting raspberry flavor would be nice, but this is still a very enjoyable product.Reviewed on: 11/8/2010

Honey Lemonade

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 16 oz Glass
BevNET Review: It's rare that we see a beverage that uses honey as a flavor in its lineup, so we were very intrigued by Hubert's Honey Lemonade variety. While it only claims to contain "extracts of honey" and has caramel color to create the honey-like appearance, the product does actually have a rather pleasant honey flavor. However, it still seems like this and the Original variety are rather close cousins. Fortunately, they are both very enjoyable products with great lemon flavor and, despite their use of stevia, they feature no sweetener aftertaste. We'd say the same for the appearance of the bottle, which is only slightly different in design and color (of both the accent color and the color of the liquid). Overall, it's a nice tasting product, but we'd be lying if we said that we wouldn't like to see honey on the list of ingredients.Reviewed on: 11/8/2010
