BevNET Review: Many people believe that birch beer tastes just like root beer, but Mystic Seaport buries this notion with this unique and flavorful version of birch beer. It's like a traditional root beer base with a light wintergreen layer of flavor. What we like about this particular product is that it is light and refreshing without being too sweet. Mystic Seaport also brews their beverages with pure cane sugar rather than corn syrup, which leads to a purer, less generic product.Reviewed on: 5/31/2001

BevNET Review: We here at the BevNET! really enjoy Mystic Seaport beverages in general, but, unfortunately, they have not lived up to our expectations with this one. Lemon Beer vaguely reminds us of dish washing liquid, and if you have ever been unlucky enough to have gotten dish soap in your mouth, you will know that we are not being complimentary. This beverage is flavored with lemon oils and ginger which gives it too much of a bitter bite to be refreshing. Don't write off Mystic Seaport just because of this review though; their other products are far superior!Reviewed on: 5/31/2001

BevNET Review: Rich in both color and flavor, Mystic Seaport's sarsaparilla tastes like a thick root beer flavored with natural wintergreen and anise (like a hint of black licorice). Like other Mystic Seaport beverages, this one is brewed with pure cane sugar for natural sweetness. It is a little on the heavy side, however, so you must be in just the right mood for it. Despite this fact, we give it our seal of approval for a smooth and creamy superior beverage.Reviewed on: 5/31/2001
